Replace an image
- Select its layer on the canvas or in the layer list. For a background image, open that object's background settings.
- Open image content and choose a photo, or use the wallpaper or asset picker offered by that panel.
- Confirm the image in the system picker. Allow cloud photos to download locally first.
- Open cropping, position the subject, confirm and inspect the canvas.
- Save the design.
If the template preview offers photo settings, you can replace the photo there before adding it. Otherwise choose Edit.
Choose how the image fits
- Contain keeps the whole image visible but may leave empty space.
- Cover fills the area and may crop the edges.
- Stretch fills the area but can distort proportions.
Layer size and fit affect the visible result as well as the crop. Establish the layer's proportions before fine-tuning the subject position.
If the image looks different or disappears
Check Common, Light and Dark appearance settings and where the change applies. Inspect image opacity, masking, tint and parent clipping.
See photo permissions if the original cannot be read. If only the Home Screen differs, confirm the save and follow preview differences.
See the Photo widget guide for a complete workflow from choosing a picture to placing it on the home screen, including face cropping and checking collections.
