Photo access and unreadable images

Resolve failed saves, missing photos and changed access.

Updated September 17, 2026

Identify the failing step

  1. Distinguish an incomplete download, a failed gallery save and a widget that cannot read its selected photo. Note the error message.
  2. Open My → Settings → Permissions, check access used by that feature, then retry the original action.

Review access in system settings

On iPhone, review photo access under Privacy & Security in Settings. With selected-photo access, ensure the intended image is included or select it again using the app’s photo picker.

On Android, usually open Settings → Apps → the app → Permissions. Photo and video permission names vary by version; grant what the feature needs.

When access is allowed but it still fails

Check that the image opens fully in the system gallery and that storage is available. Compare with another local image. If only one fails, report its format and size rather than a private original.
