You can browse without a MuseScreen account. Widget photos are processed locally; online browsing, entitlement checks, diagnostics and feedback involve separate data processing. Website analytics require your permission. This setting does not control app analytics.

Scope and operator

This policy applies to the MuseScreen mobile and desktop apps, website, and directly related services provided by MuseScreen Team ("we"). Third-party websites, app stores, operating systems, and system share sheets handle information under their own rules and are outside this policy.

Send questions about personal information processing to [email protected]. We will contact you to the reasonable extent needed to verify your request.

Our processing principles

  • We process only information necessary for specific features. Agreement to this policy is not a condition for collecting unrelated information.
  • System permissions are requested separately when a feature needs them. Declining a permission does not affect unrelated features.
  • We prioritize processing on your device and do not automatically upload data that can remain local.
  • We currently do not sell personal information, target advertising based on personal profiles, or use personal information for automated pricing.

Information handled by the app

When browsing online content or downloading resources, the app sends language preferences, device type, screen dimensions and pixel density to select content and image sizes. These display parameters do not contain a device serial number or advertising identifier. Installation identifiers and entitlement checks are described below.

Any online request exposes the network service to your IP address, request time, request path, and basic network logs. IP addresses are currently used for API abuse prevention and rate limiting, not for user profiling.

MuseScreen uses Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring to understand app stability, crash causes, performance, and basic feature usage. These services may process interaction events, app and system versions, device models, network and performance metrics, crash stacks, Firebase installation identifiers, session identifiers, and approximate regions inferred from IP addresses. We do not use this data for third-party ad targeting.

Release builds configured with Firebase initialize analytics and diagnostics when the app starts. The app currently has no switch linked to Website analytics settings; declining website analytics does not disable app analytics. Development builds and unconfigured platforms may not enable these services.

  • Language and display parameters: for content localization and image sizing.
  • Network and error information: for content delivery, API security, and troubleshooting.
  • Analytics, crash, and performance data: to measure basic feature usage, diagnose faults, and improve performance.
  • App settings: themes, language, icons, and widget configurations are stored locally.
  • Cached files: viewed wallpapers, widget previews, and necessary temporary files are stored in the device's cache directory.

Photos and content you choose

When you choose photos for a widget, MuseScreen requests access to those photos and may save a local copy in the app sandbox or shared widget container to generate and keep displaying the widget. The current implementation does not upload these photos to our servers.

When you save a wallpaper, MuseScreen requests permission to write an image to your photo library. Where supported, we prefer add-only photo access. These actions take place only when you initiate selection, saving, or sharing.

When you use system sharing, selected files are passed to the operating system and the third-party app you choose. That third party determines subsequent handling. Check the recipient and content before sending.

Website and contact emails

The current website offers no user registration, advertising, or advertising profiling tools. Only after you select "Allow analytics" does it load Firebase Analytics to measure page visits. Firebase Analytics may process page URLs and titles, referring pages, browser and device information, session and Firebase installation identifiers, and approximate regions inferred from IP addresses, and may set necessary analytics cookies. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain disabled. Website analytics does not run before consent or continue after consent is withdrawn.

Regardless of analytics consent, basic network services may process IP addresses, browser types, access times, and request logs to deliver pages and protect security. Your analytics choice is stored locally in the browser for later visits. You can change it at any time through "Website analytics settings" on the page.

Cloudflare serves website pages, images and endpoints. Search sends your query and selected language to the website search endpoint. Requesting a standard-size download asks the content API for a temporary link. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in search. Web previews are separate from in-app HD entitlements.

When you send a support email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to provide. We use these only to answer questions, diagnose problems, and maintain necessary communication records. Do not send passwords, complete payment credentials, or unrelated sensitive information.

Purchases and subscriptions

If MuseScreen offers purchases or subscriptions through an app store, payments are processed by the relevant platform, such as the Apple App Store. We do not receive your bank card number, payment password, or full billing information.

Versions with membership or installation identity services generate a random installation identifier and store service credentials. The server processes this identifier, platform and app identifiers, creation time and entitlement status to recognize the installation, restore service access and prevent abuse. This is not a registered personal account and does not mean the data is fully anonymous.

On platforms configured for purchases, MuseScreen uses RevenueCat to manage and verify entitlements. This involves an app user identifier, product identifiers, transaction receipts, purchase or renewal status and validity periods. The app may check entitlements on startup or resume; purchases require your confirmation in the store. RevenueCat does not replace the app store as the payment provider.

In-app feedback

Where the feedback feature is available, you can submit a category and message. Myriad processes submissions together with language, platform, source screen and a service-specific identifier derived from the installation identity, for handling, classification and abuse prevention. The current form does not require contact details or automatically attach photos.

If you need an email reply, contact the support email separately. Do not include passwords, complete payment credentials or unrelated personal information in feedback.

Storage location and retention

  • Widget documents, settings, photo copies and caches are primarily stored on the device or in system shared containers. System backups, images saved to Photos and securely stored credentials may persist independently. Uninstalling does not guarantee removal of those copies or server records.
  • API security logs are retained only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and compliance with applicable law, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Firebase analytics, crash, and performance data is retained according to Google Firebase retention settings and policies, then deleted or de-identified.
  • Support emails are retained until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable follow-up verification period, then deleted when no longer needed.
  • Cloud accounts and cross-device cloud sync are not currently offered to general users. If added, we will first update this policy and provide the necessary explanations in the product.
  • Installation, entitlement, feedback and support records are retained as needed to provide the relevant service, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention settings vary by service. Contact support to ask about records relating to you or request deletion.

Sharing, processing providers, and transfers

We do not sell your personal information. Contractually bound service providers may process the minimum necessary information only when required for infrastructure, content delivery, Firebase analytics and diagnostics, payment verification, or customer support.

We do not publicly disclose personal information without your separate consent unless otherwise required by law. If the operator changes through a merger, division, asset transfer, or similar event, we will notify you and require the successor to maintain protections no lower than those in this policy.

Cloudflare, Google Firebase, RevenueCat, app stores and feedback services may process data outside your country or region. Locations depend on service configuration and provider arrangements; we do not promise that all data stays on your device or in one country. Applicable notice, consent and other cross-border safeguards must be followed where required.

Your choices and rights

You can manage Photos permissions in system settings, delete widgets or clear caches in the app, and change website analytics through Website analytics settings. Withdrawing website consent does not automatically delete previously received analytics or disable app diagnostics. Contact support to request deletion of server-side data.

Under applicable law, you may request access to, copies of, corrections to, additions to, or deletion of personal information we hold; ask us to explain processing rules; or request restrictions, object, or complain about processing. Submit requests to [email protected]. We may verify your identity to prevent unauthorized access.

Minors

MuseScreen is not directed specifically at children. Users below the age at which they can independently consent to data processing or enter transactions locally should use the service and make purchases with guardian guidance. Contact us if you believe we have improperly processed a child’s information so we can investigate and act as required.

Security and policy updates

We protect information through access controls, least-privilege permissions, transmission safeguards, and necessary security reviews. Internet and software environments cannot guarantee absolute security. If an incident may affect your rights, we will take remedial and notification measures as required by law.

If features or data practices change materially, we will update this policy and its date. Major changes will be explained through in-app notices, website announcements, or other prominent means.
