Set tap actions

Choose an action and use click testing to check which layer receives the tap.

Updated

Configure an action

  1. Select a layer or container and open Interaction.
  2. Inspect its current tap action and choose a type.
  3. For an app or link, choose the destination and required details. For refresh, select the data source.
  4. For personal-data changes, verify the goal or task and the intended command.
  5. Test the configuration, then save.

State toggles, increments and sequences need valid state targets. Resolve unbound-record or invalid-parameter messages before continuing.

Test the hit area

Choose Test in the interaction tools and tap the canvas to inspect the receiving layer and action. A parent container can supply an action, so no independent action does not always mean no response.

Open can navigate for real during testing; other actions are simulated. A successful simulation does not update the actual record. Leave testing, save and verify supported behavior on the Home Screen.

If nothing happens

Check the hit layer, overlapping objects, parent action and whether the record still exists. Stale records, invalid destinations or platform restrictions can prevent an action.

For an external app, confirm it is installed and the link is valid. Include system version, tap location and expected action in feedback.

For a full path from a button’s purpose to editor testing and real record checks, see the Widget tap actions guide.
