Manage important dates and day counts

Save dates, choose recurrence and understand the different day-count conventions.

Updated

Create an important date

  1. In Profile, find the My Content section, open Dates and choose Add important date.
  2. Enter a name and date. Choose calendar type, recurrence and reminders from the available controls.
  3. Save and check the date. An anniversary name does not automatically make a record repeat annually.
  4. Select it in the widget preview, or change an existing design's source record.

Choose a count convention

Day display and Pin in the record form affect the Dates list. A widget uses its own data field and format; changing the list display does not reconfigure every widget.

DisplayOn the dateAfterwards
Countdown0Can become negative after the target date
Elapsed days0The following day is 1
Ordinal day1The following day is 2

For a one-day difference, check elapsed versus ordinal counting, then the date, time zone and recurrence. Do not shift the saved date just to compensate for the wrong counting mode.

Check changes

Designs referencing a record read its updated name or date. Edit the design when you only want another font or layout.

Configure reminders in the record and allow the relevant notifications. A visible countdown does not itself schedule a reminder. See reminder troubleshooting.

To use this record on the desktop, follow the Countdown and anniversary widget guide. Its fixed-date examples explain counts, recurrence and separate reminder settings.
