How to Add Service Cards and Change Wallpapers on Huawei HarmonyOS 3/4

Find Huawei service card menus, learn how cards differ from ordinary widgets, and set a wallpaper from Gallery. Check your model and HarmonyOS version before starting.

Applies to

Service cards follow Huawei's HarmonyOS 3.0/4.0 instructions for MuseScreen 70, 70z, and 60 Pro. Wallpaper instructions apply to models listed on the support page. For HarmonyOS 5 or later, use the relevant manual.

The app must support service cards

Huawei service cards are home screen entries supplied by apps, and not all apps support them. Some supported icons show an indicator bar underneath, although it can be hidden in home screen settings.

iPhone widgets, Android home screen widgets, and HarmonyOS service cards are not interchangeable. This guide explains system actions and does not mean MuseScreen offers native HarmonyOS service cards.

Choose an available service card

  1. Hold a supported app icon and open its Service cards option.
  2. Browse the available styles, choose one, and add it to the home screen.
  3. Alternatively, pinch inward on the home screen, open the Service cards list, and select a card.
  4. Return to the home screen to check its position. If it is missing from the current page, check neighboring pages.

Set a wallpaper from Gallery

If your interface says Home screen and personalization rather than Home screen and wallpaper, consult the manual for your model and system version instead of searching old menus repeatedly.

  1. Open the image you want in Gallery.
  2. Expand More and choose to set the image as wallpaper.
  3. Adjust the preview and follow the prompts to apply it to the lock screen, home screen, or both.

Check readability after placing cards

Styling tip: start with a calendar or weather card and check that its date and numbers are clear over the wallpaper. Avoid the busiest part of the background. Adjusting the wallpaper crop is often better than shrinking text.

Frequently asked questions

What if holding an icon does not show Service cards?

Confirm that the app and current system support service cards. Not every icon has the option, and installing an app does not necessarily make a card available.

Can I still use this guide after a HarmonyOS update changes the menu?

This guide explicitly follows instructions for selected HarmonyOS 3/4 models. Recheck menus and compatibility after an update. Use the Huawei sources below to select your product and version.
